The West Kent Road Club is a friendly cycling club for cyclists based near Swanley, Sidcup and Bexley in Kent. Cycle club runs are held on a Sunday and several of the club also meet mid week for bike rides. Cycle rides vary in length and pace and usually stop at cafes en route for refreshments. The cycle club splits into different paced groups and head towards the same cafe - with a different cafe and route most weeks. If the open road excites and tantalises then why not join us?
You can contact the club via our contacts page
Cycle club evenings are held on the first Tuesday of the month in Wilmington. These evenings are a chance to share stories, race and training tips and plan future events.
Some members are keen racers and enjoy both time trialling and road racing. Others just enjoy the commeraderie of cycling in a group or being able to train with others. What ever your interest give us a call and come out for a club run with us. You will be made to feel welcome and somebody may even buy you a second cup of tea!
Members of the cycle club may also on occasion join together for a cycling holiday and trips to Sportives. This year the club is organising a trip to the Tour of Flanders, discussions are underway to watch a stage of Le Tour and the club intends to enter some sportives as a group.
The club has two British Cycling coaches who can provide training advice and fitness tips.
Joining the club is simple and all that you need to do is complete a membership form. All that we ask is that for insurance purposes, you are a member of either the Cycle Touring Club or British Cycling
Further details can be found on our page for potential new members
The best part of being a club member is joining with other cyclists and riding as part of a group. You are more than welcome to join us for a club run. All that you need to bring is a couple of spare inner tubes, plenty of water or energy drink and some money for the cafe stop. You may also want to put some snacks in your back pocket.
