Looking to join a cycle club in Kent?If you are looking to join a cycle club, this page will hopefully provide a taste of what the West Kent Road Club can offer. The club was formed some 70 years ago as the racing off shoot of the Cycle Touring Club. In the early days, club runs would take all day with trips to the coast and stops for both lunch and dinner. Today the club has a broad range of membership comprising those who just want to ride with others through to those who compete on a weekly basis. You can contact the club via our contacts page Weekly club run The club runs weekly rides on a Sunday morning in the region of 50 miles. These start in Swanley with members meeting at 9am for a 9.15am start. A different cafe is visited each week meaning the routes are varied. Information and advice about joining a club run are contained in the West Kenter guide The guide includes a membership form. Sportives The club intends to enter some Sportives as a group. Last year members cycled The Chilterns Sportive as a group and had members enter the Southern Sportive and Surrey Legs of Steel Preparing for the Chiltern sportive ![]() Racing The club has a number of members who compete in time trials on a regular basis. A few members also enjoy participating in bunch racing. New for 2009 are some training sessions at the new cycle circuit at Hogs Hill. Overseas trips There is nothing more enjoyable than a cycling holiday on your bike. In recent years, club members have been to France to follow Le Tour for a week in the mountains. Others have grouped together for Spanish trips. This year a trip is planned to watch the Tour of Flanders and to participate in the Sportive.
