Weekend update - 09-06-2008
Quite a busy weekend of cycling action for the club this last weekend. Saturday saw Pete Thomas ride his fastest 10 in four years with a time of 22 minutes. In the evening several members were to be found at the Smithfield Nocturne for what turned out to be a great evening of racing.
Sunday dawned earliest for Terry Sowa who rode the Paris Roubaix sportive. He only managed three hours sleep thanks to the local gay bar. It is still not clear if the noise from the gay bar kept him awake or if he was actually in the bar until late! His ride was 161 miles and included some 40 miles of cobbles. A great achievemen and we hope to hear more of his stories shortly.
The club had three riders competing in the Sunday morning 50. Pete Thomas rode with a time of 2 hrs 10. 23, Alan Brown set a Kent age record with a time of 2hrs 15.53 and Graham Hines posted a time of 2hrs 22.56
