Reliability trial makes rumourmills day - 13-01-2008
The club reliability trial had over 90 sign up and ride. The time is now 16.35 and there are a few riders who should just about make it home before dark.
First rider back on the long route was Mick Hardy. Clearly the concept of following a route passed Mick by as he opted for a short cut home after the climb of Exedown. Must have been the temptation of the great selection of food that Beryl layed on.
A few riders decided to make Rumourmill's day. Should I write that they started their training for the Chiltern sportive sooner than planned. Maybe I should spend time putting some good reasons forward as to why they join the scouts to learn navigation. Maybe I could teach them how to turn on their mobile phones in case somebody felt the need to call them. Hell no it is always better to tell the truth. Rumourmill needs to remember that these four are cyclists and we all know that cyclists are careful with their money. By returning back to base after everything had been packed into cars with hollow looks in their eyes they knew the organisers would show pity on them. And so their plan worked. By hiding in the local woods and arriving back late they all made sure they did not have to pay 50 pence for a piece of cake. Great planning boys.
A big thank you to all who helped make the day a success
