New opportunity to be fitness tested - 12-05-2008
Just in from Canterbury University
A research study is being conducted at the University of Kent
(Chatham, Kent) to investigate the effect of a sports drink on 10 mile
time trial performance. More specifically the intention of the
research is to study the influence of adding protein to a carbohydrate
based drink. Previous research has suggested that sports drinks can
significantly enhance sporting performance, however research
investigating relatively short duration events is still to be fully
explored. The researchers are looking to recruit 20 male riders that
have been competing in time trials over the last 2 years and who are
continuing to compete this year. The age range is 18 to 55. You would
be required to visit the laboratory on four occasions about a week
apart. The first time would be for a maximal test of maximal aerobic
capacity, and then for three subsequent 10 mile time trials. If you
would like to participate in the study and for further information
please contact Paul Rosser pr71@kent.ac.uk
