Hands up who cheated - 22-01-2008

Rumourmill was pleased to see Sowa and Beckett return so early to the Reliability Trial HQ on Sunday although puzzled as to why they took so long to sign in. Seems that they cut the route short and missed the final check point. If we miss out on the team prize by four points we know who to blame.

Not returning quite so early (and possibly not returning at all) was the group including Steve. Terry said he waited a while but did not see him before deciding to head home. You might think he has opted to put in a few extra miles again and do yet more training for the Sportive.

Our club president has a bad back so was off the bike this weekend. Apparently it is all caused by a groin strain. Bet he doesn't know where to put that Ralgex!

Pete Thomas was out on course but had to start late as he was ferrying his kids about. He had also riden 80 miles on the Saturday with Medway Velo who are helping put him through his paces a bit nearer to home.

Please note that the Hell of the Ashdown Ride is fully booked and there will be no entries on the line. The club will have a club run as usual. Having spoken with Terry we suggest using the opportunity to do a first training run for the Sportive. Expect a few hills and some 45 miles of riding before a cafe stop. The scheduled cafe stop is Yalding for anybody not joining the training ride.
