As the warmer weather approaches (I have to have hope!) attention turns to club runs and how best to manage them. It is generally accepted that change is necessary, so no need to use this forum to go on the offensive, just use it constructively...

ECCA YOUTH OPEN CRITERIUM CHAMPIONSHIPS

HOG HILL SATURDAY 21 AUGUST 2010

Shaftsbury Cycling Club are hosting the ECCA Centenary Youth Criterium Championships at the Redbridge Cycling Centre on Saturday 21 August 2010. There will be separate races for the U8, U10 and U12 age groups and a combined race on a longer circuit for those in the U14 and U16 age bands. ECCA medals will be presented to the first three plus the first girl in each age group. The first rider in each race will be the Champion in his or her age group for 2010. Additionally, the first boy and first girl in each age group will receive a small cash prize. The events are “open” which means that an entrant does not have to be a member of a cycling club, or if a member of a club that club does not have to be affiliated to ECCA.. Your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, the children of friends or your children’s friends can all enter and stand a chance of becoming an ECCA age group champion.

The above Criteriums will form part of a 3 event Omnium series for each age group. The other events will be a short time trial and a handicap race or devil take the hindmost.

We would like to see a big entry for these events so could you please “spread the word”. As well as the youth races there will also be a full programme of other B.C. races for riders of all levels, except elite and first category, plus the regional LVRC Championships and a CTT time trial. The full days’ programme is shown below.

Come along with your family, ride an event, watch your children or other family members experience cycle racing on a closed circuit and have a good day out!!
