Funny thing is last week somebody said if all our active club members turned up at the same time it would be a fair size group. And for this week's ride exactly that happened. Twenty one riders were at the start and three groups were formed and rode to Yalding. Two of the groups had picked a similar route so there was a bit of leap frogging on the way. The quicker group I am told averaged 16mph on a route that included a few hills so well done. Now if Terry, Claire and Eddie make it out could we beat the 21 before the weather starts to turn a bit chilly? Mark Wright turned up at the cafe so it could be claimed that we had 22 on the club run.
Rumourmill will be asking the club coaches to provide Gary with some nutrition advice. At the cafe today he opted for a chip butty. Strangely enough he was not seen at the front on the ride back home...
The cafe at Yalding were clearly unable to cope with twenty cyclists turning up at once and seemed rather upset when the club president ordered what must have been a large tea and coffee order for seconds. The medium paced group did the sensible thing and headed to Hadlow. Rumourmill is unsure if that was due to the queue or the lovely cakes that are on offer at Hadlow....
